Work with Me

Are you looking to highlight your destination, product or brand? I launched Writing Horseback on July 13, 2009 – after Twitter was born and before Instagram even existed! Needless to say, this is not my first rodeo.

I travel the world on horseback while sharing my insider tips as a professional travel writer. Through my first person perspective I create unique content, video and photography, combined with social media, to deliver engaging and informative travel information. I also review dude ranches, resorts and stables, as well as equestrian apparel, boots and tack.

My demographics skew toward well educated, active adventure females. I’m available for:

  • Brand Ambassador
  • Photography
  • Social Media
  • Speaking
  • Tours
  • Video
  • Writing

  1. Hello,

My name is Julia, and I am an 19-year-old rider from Slovenia. Since I was a little girl, I have had a deep love for horses — they have always been a big part of my life and the reason I feel most alive.

I started riding at a young age and earned my Rider 1 license, which allows me to gallop freely and safely. I have also trained in show jumping and have recently returned to riding after a short break. The moment I got back in the saddle, I remembered how much joy, peace, and freedom horses bring me — it’s truly one of the most beautiful feelings in the world.

I would love to combine my passion for horses with exploring Africa’s nature and wildlife. I’m very interested in joining a program or team that works with horses on safaris — helping with daily care, guiding, or any work around the stables.

Even though I’m young, I’m hardworking, eager to learn, and deeply motivated to grow through new experiences. I believe that working with horses in such a beautiful environment would be an unforgettable way to learn and give something back at the same time.

Could you please let me know if there are any opportunities to join your safaris or volunteer with your horses? I would also appreciate any details about what kind of help you might need and whether the program is paid or includes accommodation.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
    Warm regards,
    Julia Cestnik

  2. Hi Julia,

While I appreciate your interest to volunteer with horses, you should dig deeper in your research. I’m a travel writer, based in Oregon. I visit and write about horseback riding vacations for my career. I no longer own horses. Regards, Nancy D. Brown
