During my travels I always hope to fit in a horseback riding vacation or at least a horse sighting. Sometimes, this is not always possible, especially when visiting large metropolitan cities. It wasn’t until I walked into the lobby of the extravagant Bellagio Las Vegas that I spotted this fabulous mosaic glass horse.
Captured from several different angles, this glass horse prances under a wall of colorful glass created by artist Dale Chihuly. This magnificent horse dazzles the eye like a lovely Las Vegas showgirl performing on stage. Only this stage is the Bellagio hotel lobby in Nevada.
“Fiori Di Como” was commissioned by Steve Wynn back in 1998 for the hotel’s opening. At a cost of $10 million, Chihuly’s glass sculpture that hangs from the Bellagio’s ceiling compares with the cost of some expensive race horses.
