Cavalia Equestrian show where horses and humans join together
The Big Top becomes home to the Silicon Valley debut of Cavalia: A magical encounter between human and horse. Created by Normand Latourelle, one of the co-founders of Cirque du Soleil, Cavalia is an orchestration of the equestrian and performing arts. The large-scale production stars 47 horses and 38 acrobats, aerialists, dancers, musicians and riders from around the world, and has been seen by some 3.5 million viewers worldwide. The show is two hours and thirty minutes long, with the performance lasting two hours and a 30 minute intermission.

Not your typical horse stable
Standing 110 feet tall – over 10 stories – and spanning more than 26,000 square feet, the White Big Top being erected in San Jose for Cavalia accommodates a 160-foot wide stage, created to provide the horses space to gallop completely free. Over the past nine years, Cavalia’s White Big Top has graced the skylines of the numerous North American and European cities. Weighing more than 50 tons, The White Big Top has more than 71,400 square feet of canvas and seven trailers are required to transport it.

Understanding horses
Cavalia’s horse training is based upon a philosophy of understanding horses, rather than making horses understand the humans around them. The tone of the show, embraced by the entire company, is one of mutual respect, kindness, patience, and trust.
