You’ve heard the phrase, “if these walls could talk.” Well, if those horses and the walls of the stables could talk, I’m sure we would be amazed at what took place many moons ago at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley.
Back in the day, Holman Ranch was known for its cowboys and rodeos and served as a hideaway for the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Joan Crawford, Marlon Brando and Clark Gable.
Historic Holman Ranch
While the historic Holman Ranch no longer offers horseback riding vacations to the general public, those fortunate to travel with their horses will be able to find room (and board) at the ranch.
Special occasions at Holman Ranch
Holman Ranch is known for special occasions, be it weddings, family-reunions, girlfriend getaways or corporate retreats. But the real treat is in store for equestrians and their horses.
Situated on 400 acres in Northern California, Holman Ranch offers trail riding access from canyons to mountains deep in the heart of Carmel Valley.
The private estate features a fully restored stone hacienda and 10 overnight guest rooms, but they are not open to groups less than 10 – in other words, you need to rent the entire property to stay at Holman Ranch – unless you are a horse, of course.
Vacation for your horse at Holman Ranch
Holman Ranch Stables feature newly remodeled horseback riding facilities. With private horse boarding services, Holman Ranch offers a 20 stall show barn; 50+ pipe paddocks; jumping, dressage and Western arenas, three tack rooms and one of the largest covered arenas on the Monterey, California peninsula.
Holman Ranch is able to accommodate 100 horses. You’ll need to call ahead to see if they have availability during your horseback riding vacation to Carmel Valley.
