Writer’s Retreat for Horse Lovers at Vee Bar Ranch, Laramie, Wyoming

Writer's Retreat

If you are a follower of Writing Horseback blog, you know that I seek out horseback riding vacations when I travel.  While I have not attended this particular retreat, it sounded of interest to the equestrian, writer and horse lover on several levels.

Who doesn’t love summer camp for adults? This week long retreat near Laramie, Wyoming offers horseback riding, in addition to writing workshops.

Literature and landscape of the horse

Offered by author Page Lambert, this combination horseback riding vacation and writer’s retreat is designed to connect writers with horses, as well as provide creative inspiration.

Love of horses

“We all yearn for a deeper connection to the things we love and for many of us, it’s the love of horses that has been with us since childhood,” said Lambert.

“During this retreat, my co-facilitator Sheri Griffith, and the Vee Bar wranglers, will lead us gracefully down the path of deeper knowing, I will lead us down the path of deeper expression, and the horses will lead us deeper into ourselves.  The Little Laramie River just outside our cabins reminds us to go with the flow.  For five days, we will write about, read about, and be about horses!  And, we’ll be in Wyoming.”

What to expect at this writer’s retreat

This retreat is designed to connect writers with horses and provide creative inspiration for writers. Participants will explore what life looks like through the eyes of a horse during this five-day horseback riding vacation.

Equestrian Sheri Griffith and Vee Bar Guest Ranch wranglers will lead horseback rides. Each guest will be assigned a specific horse for the duration of the writer’s retreat. Those in attendance will learn about horses, polish their equestrian skills and further develop their writing craft. Author Page Lambert will lead literature and writing workshops. She is a founding member of Women Writing the West, a nonprofit association of writers promoting the Women’s West.

  1. What a great site, Nancy, and such fun to see my LITERATURE & LANDSCAPE OF THE HORSE retreat featured. Thank you. I just found out that my blog ALL THINGS LITERARY. ALL THINGS NATURAL. won the Colorado Authors League Blog of the Yar Award last night, so that is good news too.

Hope to see some of your fans in Wyoming!
